Monika is an Interaction Designer who works across the disciplines of science, ethics and futures.
Scope of work

Her research focuses on how living systems and the natural world can help establish new perspectives on the future of technology and ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on the role of ethics in the design process.
She co-led research within European Commission projects exploring fusion energy and the ethics of emerging technology. Monika works with clients to design experiences, products and services at the edges of technology and culture, with collaborations including Tellart, Future Society, LVMH, and Google. She is also co-founder of Ncoded Matter and the Grow Your Own Cloud initiative.

Through her design work, Monika operates at the intersection of emerging technologies, digital media and the natural environment. She builds immersive, sensory-rich spaces that blend the physical and digital, using a speculative mindset to explore how design, art and science, in particular biotechnology, can open new imaginaries for the future.

Monika's courses are based on her deep research and design work in the fields of futurescaping, ethics and climate, together with techniques of prototyping, data visualisation, storytelling, and exhibition design. Her approach to teaching is to create a hands-on, collaborative environment that brings together multidisciplinary perspectives.
She teaches at various institutions including Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, Design Academy Eindhoven, Hyper Island, and IT University of Copenhagen.
Monika is a graduate of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She holds a Master’s Degree in Media Arts and Interaction Design.
